OTB Legal: Coronavirus Update

Coronavirus - Our Priorities

With the current Coronavirus on everyone’s minds, we want to reassure everyone that the health and wellbeing of our clients, team members and their families remains our top priority.

We are also very conscious of the importance to our clients of continuing with their immigration applications to help them reunite with loved ones, maintain their status in the UK or to help their businesses to continue in these uncertain times.

As directors we have therefore thought long and hard about how we can maintain both of these important, and in some ways competing, elements. We are still very much open for business but we have decided on a few critical changes to how we will be working over the next few weeks.

Face-to-Face Appointments

Firstly, we will not be booking in any further face-to-face appointments at our Nottingham office. This enables us to play our part in helping to slow the spread of the Coronavirus in line with the UK government’s guidelines. Instead, we will be making use of our fantastic telephone and video conferencing facilities to continue to meet clients, take their instructions and provide advice and assistance in completing their immigration applications.

Our video conferencing facilities have been getting great feedback about how simple they are to use. They are free, easy to download in seconds and deliver a high quality result. All you need is a smart phone, laptop or webcam and access to the internet. We will guide you through the rest. You don’t need to be “techy” in any way. We will even recommend free software for you to take photographs of any documents you need to send to us which will convert them into PDF documents which you can easily email over to us – even multiple page documents in a single file.

Increased Home Working

The second work change we will be implementing is to allow our team members to work from home more frequently. Since day one of OTB Legal launching, we have always built remote working into our systems which allows our staff to work anywhere in the world and still access emails, phone calls and case files in real time. Essentially, as clients you should not notice any difference in the quality of service you are already used to, but we thought it important that you know we take our social responsibilities seriously.

Delivery of Documents

If you need to deliver documents to us please speak to your legal advisor to arrange a time when a member of staff will be available to accept them.

Sustainability

Like you, we are hopeful that we are on the pathway our of lockdowns. Rest assured though, that we are right here working in a sustainable way to help clients and staff to work together on important matters in a safe and supportive environment however long it takes.

If you have any questions then we would love to hear from you at [email protected]

We will push out legal updates to UK immigration law as and when they happen through the insights section of our website which can be accessed here.

In the meantime we hope you stay safe and we will see you in person again very soon.

Thank you

OTB Legal Directors.
