PERSONAL IMMIGRATION PARALEGAL
Job Purpose: To provide exceptional support to the legal team in a variety of legal and operational duties to allow the team to provide excellent client care and case outcomes. [This is an overview of the entire job description- NOT all points are expected to be met]
Person specification: – [Skills, knowledge and experience required]
-An interest and passion for immigration law
-An ability to maintain a professional approach at all times
-A desire to learn about all aspects of being a lawyer
-An affinity with computer packages and willingness to embrace new technology
-A clear and concise writing style that communicates effectively and professionally
-Outstanding organisational skills with the ability to prioritise deadlines and self-manage workloads effectively
-Strong attention to detail with an awareness of the importance of accuracy and the consequences of errors
-Desire for social justice and a genuine wish to act in clients best interests
-Empathetic nature with an ability to put clients at ease and sensitivity to difficult situations
-Willingness to learn and take on constructive feedback and opportunities to improve
-Honest and trustworthy with high ethical standards
-An awareness of professional standards and regulatory framework which solicitors work within
-Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English
-Ability to provide friendly and open support to a legal team

Tasks and responsibilities:
-General administrative tasks in relation to individual file management
-Supporting Fee Earners to progress matters on a regular basis
-Assisting Fee Earners to move new business enquiries through the conversion stages
-Liaising with clients to request documents and progress matters
-Accurately bundling and uploading documents together in support of applications
-Helping Fee Earners to close and archive files on Proclaim
-Accurately completing Home Office application forms
-Proactively work independently to complete individual tasks
-Prepare high quality blogs
-Identifying ways that we can improve processes and work more efficiently
-New Client Streams: Actively contributing to the team efforts to bringing new clients in to the business
-Supporting Fee Earners with New Client Conversions – Converting enquiries effectively and successfully to stage 1, stage 2 and stage 3
-Blogs – Writing high quality blogs on a consistent basis.
-Task reviews – Carrying out tasks to a high standard both legally and procedurally with positive feedback from Fee Earners.
-Complaints/Errors – Kept to the minimum level possible but with an open mind to implementing improvements where they can be made
-Response Times – Responding to all clients messages in a reasonable time
-Supporting Fee Earners with Case Progression – Cases being appropriately progressed with no unnecessary periods of inactivity
-Team Player – Supporting others within the OTB Team to be happy and productive.
-Successfully Delivering Projects – As allocated by Directors at an appropriate level
-Working Smarter Not Harder – Actively contributing to ways of working which are a more efficient use of own and colleagues’ time
-Promoting Personal Wellbeing – Demonstrates working practices which promote personal wellbeing
