Personal Immigration Paralegal

Sarah Saenz Cabrera

Background

Sarah is currently in the penultimate year of her LLB Law degree at the University of Sheffield. She has a strong passion for immigration law and plans to base her final-year research project on a topic within this area.

Sarah is a member of her university’s law society, where she attends insightful events and networks with legal professionals. She is also a Triage Worker and a Management Committee Member for a Sheffield-based Pro Bono organisation, where she contributes to providing legal support to those in need.

In April and September 2024, Sarah gained valuable work experience at OTB Legal, shadowing and assisting the Personal Immigration Team, the Business Immigration Team, and the Operations Team. During her placements, she supported the teams with various tasks and authored her first blog for the firm.

Areas of Expertise

Before embarking on her legal career, Sarah worked in Human Resources for over two years. In this role, she acquired knowledge in employment law and business immigration law, performing critical tasks such as conducting right-to-work checks.

Sarah’s personal experience navigating visa application processes inspired her passion for immigration law. She is driven by a desire to support others through similar journeys and to make a positive impact in this field
