We’re looking for an experienced Business Immigration Lawyer to join our award-winning and people-first team at OTB Legal.

You’ll be joining a talented and growing team of six legal professionals — including brilliant paralegals, advisors, solicitors, and associates — all working together to deliver standout business immigration support.
The team is led by Sally McEwen, a Legal 500 Leading Individual with over 20 years of experience in business immigration law. Sally brings a wealth of knowledge, leadership, and genuine passion for mentoring and developing those around her.

Job purpose:
To maintain a complex business/corporate immigration caseload to an exceptional standard and to provide excellent client care and case outcomes.
Person specification – Skills, knowledge and experience required
- An interest and passion for business/corporate immigration law
- Graduate level
- An ability to maintain a professional approach at all times
- An affinity with computer packages and willingness to embrace new technology
- A clear and concise writing style that communicates effectively and professionally
- An strong understanding of complex legal issues
- Responsibility for own varied case load
- An ability to learn new and developing areas of immigration law independently
- A clear practicing certificate if a qualified solicitor
- No record of adverse findings by regulatory bodies
- Minimum of five years experience in business / corporate immigration law.
- Outstanding organisational skills with the ability to prioritise deadlines and self-manage workloads effectively
- Ability to articulate complex information in a manner that clients can easily understand
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to pick out important details
- Strong attention to detail with an awareness of the importance of accuracy and the consequences of errors
- Willingness to learn and take on constructive feedback and opportunities to improve
- Honest and trustworthy with high ethical standards
- An awareness of professional standards and regulatory framework which solicitors work within
- A commitment to and potential for becoming a leading immigration lawyer of the future
- An approachable nature and willingness to take on tasks that are assigned to you

Tasks and responsibilities:
- Preparing representations and undertaking research on more complex matters
- Managing a complex case load with responsibility for matters from start to finish
- Contributing to the teams overall billing target
- Dealing effectively with new business enquiries and maximising conversion rates
- General administrative tasks in relation to individual file management
- Progress new business enquiries towards successful client instructions
- Liaising with clients to request documents
- Bundling documents together in support of applications

- New Client Streams – Actively contributing to the team efforts to bringing new clients in to the business
- New Client Conversions – Converting enquiries effectively and successfully to stage 1, stage 2 and stage 3
- Blogs – Writing high quality blogs on a consistent basis.
C. Quality
- File Reviews – Maintaining good quality files both legally and procedurally
- Complaints/Errors – Kept to the minimum level possible but with an open mind to implementing improvements where they can be made
- Case Outcomes – Consistently high levels of good case outcomes in line with client expectations.
D. Client Care
- Client Feedback – Actively requesting feedback from clients and gaining excellent feedback scores and comments.
- Response Times – Responding to all clients messages in a reasonable time
- Case Progression – Cases being appropriately progressed with no unnecessary periods of inactivity
