-Responsibility for own varied case load
-An ability to learn new and developing areas of immigration law independently
-A clear practicing certificate if a qualified solicitor
-No record of adverse findings by regulatory bodies
-Minimum of three years experience in immigration law, or prior experience in another area of law and an overwhelming commitment to learn about immigration law
-Outstanding organisational skills with the ability to prioritise deadlines and self-manage workloads effectively
-Ability to articulate complex information in a manner that clients can easily understand
-Strong analytical skills with the ability to pick out important details
-Strong attention to detail with an awareness of the importance of accuracy and the consequences of errors
-Desire for social justice and a genuine wish to act in clients best interests
-Empathetic nature with an ability to put clients at ease and sensitivity to difficult situations
-Willingness to learn and take on constructive feedback and opportunities to improve
-Honest and trustworthy with high ethical standards
-An awareness of professional standards and regulatory framework which solicitors work within

-Accredited at or willing to work towards Level 2 Law Society accreditation if part of the Personal Immigration Team
-Experience of  providing legal supervision or a desire to take on supervision

Tasks and responsibilities:

-Preparing representations and undertaking research on more complex matters

-Managing a complex case load with responsibility for matters from start to finish

-Contributing to the teams overall billing target

-Dealing effectively with new business enquiries and maximising conversion rates

-General administrative tasks in relation to individual file management

-Progress new business enquiries towards successful client instructions

-Liaising with clients to request documents

-Bundling documents together in support of applications

Outcomes:

A. Financials
1. Individually contributing towards a team billing target
2. The team meeting their billing target

B. Business Development
3. Identify New Client Streams – Leading the team efforts to bringing new clients  in to the business
4. New Client Conversions – individually converting enquiries effectively and successfully to stage 1, stage 2 and stage 3
5. New Client Conversions – the team having a high conversion percentage
6. Blogs – Writing high quality blogs on a consistent basis.

C. Quality
7. File Reviews – Maintaining good quality files both legally and procedurally
8. Being up to date on file reviews and giving good quality feedback with agreed corrective action
9. Complaints/Errors – Kept to the minimum level possible across the team and individually but with an open mind to implementing improvements where they can be made
10. Case Outcomes – Consistently high levels of good case outcomes in line with client expectations across the team and individually

11. Client Feedback – Actively requesting feedback from clients and gaining excellent feedback scores and comments and the team doing the same.
